iPad 9th Gen

The first product to be launched was Apple’s lowest-cost-ever iPad. Unlike its predecessors with an A12 Bionic chip, this comes with a faster and stronger A13 processor. Furthermore, a 12-megapixel front-facing camera with a wide-angle lens and a 10.2-inch retina display makes it a complete package.

Its iPad Pro-like Centre stage and True Tone video features set the new iPad apart concerning inclusivity. Moreover, it comes packed with the intuitive iPadOS 15 supporting 1st Gen Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard.

Launched at $329 (India Pricing- ₹30,900) for the 64GB variant, iPad 9th Gen becomes the true showstopper in this turn of events.

First Impressions and Opinions:

iPad 9th Gen with an A13 bionic chip and all other features touch better than its predecessors can make it to the list of Apple ecosystem lovers. Despite releasing at a base price similar to its older versions, the new iPad comes with a better processor, bigger memory size, and more. As much as one can rely on the newer processor, it’s undoubtedly a product to look out for in the coming days.

iPad Mini

The brand new smaller and better iPad Mini with an 8.3-inch liquid retina display comes second on the list of launches. Equipped with a more versatile A15 Bionic Chipset, 5G compatibility, and 4K video recording feature, iPad Mini breaks through. A 12 MP back camera with true tone flash coupled with a 12 MP ultra-wide lens on the front makes for the best combination. It also supports the 2nd Gen Apple Pencil.

With an edge-to-edge design and features like P3 Wide Colour and Ultra-low reflectivity, iPad Mini keeps surprising. It boasts of a Type-C port which enables more functionality and compatibility on the go. iPadOS 15 makes multitasking processes smoother and better than ever before.

iPad Mini comes with a base price of $499 (India Pricing- ₹46,900) for the 64GB variant. Available in 4 different colors, the iPad Mini is available to order and ships soon.

First Impressions and Opinions:

iPad Mini kicks it off with a powerful A15 Bionic chip and a Type-C support proprietary to the lightning port. Apple’s promise of a 40% better performance in terms of the processor comes as no surprise. Touch ID sensor built into the top button makes sure to give the user an immersive experience, and the minimalistic design turns the heat up. Many other features like 5G connectivity, True Tone, and 4K video recording with an improved camera make the phone a complete package. As a result, Apple leaves no stone unturned in making the new iPad Mini a product to watch out for for a long time.

Apple Watch Series 7

Next comes the Apple Watch Series 7 that looks just like the Series 6 but arrives with some enhancements. Retaining an industrial design with rounded edges, the Watch comes with a 40 percent thinner border this time around. With 1.7 mm bezels around the corners, it claims to have 20% more screen area than Series 6. Resigned buttons, a more prominent and 70% brighter screen indoors, and a more crack-resistant glass already set the tone for the revamped Apple Watch.

Apple claims to have redesigned its software to fit more text on the screen. Moreover, it has an IP6X dust resistance and an 18-hour battery life with 30% faster charging than its predecessor. It comes with a fast-charging Type-C cable making the process less daunting.

Starting at $399 (India Pricing- ₹30,000) with some outstanding features, Apple claims it to be the “most durable Apple Watch ever built.” It will be available sometime later this fall.

First Impressions and Opinion:

Apple Watch Series 7 is a powerhouse loaded with high-end features. As the new Series 7 launches, Apple announces to discontinue it’s Series 6; thus, making way for the newer gen Apple Watch to make a mark. Series 6, being a successful product, sees a vast enhancement in the form of Series 7’s features. 20% more screen area means better viewing angles and better accessibility. Softer corners make it an elegant-looking device, and a durable battery life ends up making it an all-around beast of a machine. Its late arrival in the market might affect its business, but better late than never.

Apple iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Mini

The new Apple iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Mini come next with some similar features packed in them. Apple has spiked up to its creativity game by bringing in a new look diagonally arranged cameras for both the regular and mini variants of the iPhone 13. In addition, the phones have a smaller notch and a brighter XDR OLED display compared to the iPhone 12 series.

One feature that distinguishes them is the screen size of 6.1-inch and 5.4-inches, respectively, for the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Mini. A dual rear camera set-up of 12MP Wide (f/1.6) and Ultra-wide (f/2.4) lenses placed diagonally make the phone’s rear look sleek and trendy. A 12 MP TrueDepth sensor on the front allows capturing pictures in Portrait mode with advanced Bokeh and Depth Controls.

Both the variants run the A15 Bionic Chipset and come with features like Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG support. The A15 Bionic chip has a 6-core CPU with two high-performance and four efficiency cores, which puts the device on par with the performance. The phone also has an IP68 Water Resistant rating.

Available at base prices of $799 (India Pricing- ₹79,900) for iPhone 13 (128GB) and $699 (India Pricing- ₹69,900) for iPhone 13 Mini (128GB), Apple offers 5 colour options to choose from.

First Impressions and Opinion:

iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Mini are the budget iPhones one can choose from the available options. With their enhanced features, Apple continues the legacy of bringing innovation and keeping up with the trend at the same time. Apple claims to offer 1.5 hours and 2.5 hours of extra battery time on the Mini and regular variants, and if these speculations are to go by, it’s a steal. However, there’s not much change in design compared to the iPhone 12 series, apart from a smaller notch and diagonal cameras. With so many color options available, it is ideal for people wishing to enter the Apple ecosystem with these phones.

iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max

Apples iPhone Pro series phones come with a Triple rear camera set-up of three different sensors with 12MP resolution each. A Telephoto lens (f/2.8) coupled with Wide (f/1.5) and Ultra-wide (f/1.8) lenses complete the combination. This feature distinguishes the pro versions from the regular ones. Along with that, a 12 MP TrueDepth sensor with an aperture of f/2.2 completes the camera set-up. Cinematic Mode for recording life-like videos with a depth mode enabled steps up the game for the new cameras.

A 6.7 inches Super Retina XDR display in the iPhone 13 Pro Max provides the user an immersive experience with an OLED panel complimenting it. A similar display of 6.1 inches with ProMotion technology in the iPhone 13 Pro suits the slightly smaller screen size. Once again, with an IP68 rating, you can use the phone without worrying much. The principal improvement from the previous versions of the phone has been the battery life, as claimed by Apple. They claim to have 1.5 to 2.5 hours of extra battery running time on both variants. They feature the same A15 Bionic chip used in the regular variants.

The base variant of the iPhone 13 Pro prices at $999 (India Pricing- ₹1,19,900) and that of the iPhone 13 Pro Max prises at $1099 (India Pricing- ₹1,29,900). The phone is also available in a Sierra Blue color this year.

First Impressions and Opinions-

iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max have a majorly improved battery life of extra 1.5 hours. It can prove to be the USP of these versions as iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max had to face backlash because of their battery life. Everything else almost remains the same as the iPhone 12 series except for the slightly improved cameras and battery life as claimed. What impresses the general user the most is the ProMotion display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It makes the user experience smooth, and when coupled with the OS of Apple, it works wonders.

Final Verdict:

Apple has launched numerous products in its Annual Fall Event 2021, ranging from iPhone successors to Apple Watch and even iPads. We are yet to see how the products fare in the market and their reviews from the users. With a significant improvement in at least one segment of each device, there’s still hope that Apple might make up for the issues from the past. As Apple starts shipping some of these products by the 24th of September, it will be interesting to see the user reviews as we move along.
